A few weeks ago, I saw these awesome little keepsake boxes on Pinterest. I had been pondering for sometime over what to do with all the keepsakes that we had accumulated from our big holidays without being too intrusive in our decor.
These seemed like the perfect thing.
Turns out wooden boxes are pretty hard to find in little ole NZ, so I settled on a paper mache version from Spotlight. I primed them with Gesso as they were fairly brown and painted them using left over paint in yellow, pink and blue from our book-case make over.
I stencil-ed the countries on the end and voila! Cute and functional! What more can a gal ask for?
Turns out I only had enough to fill two of the boxes so pinky’s feeling a little left out. I think a trip needs to happen to fill her up. Don’t you?
I pinned the same boxes. Love the idea and can’t wait to fill some of my own up.
