Recently, I became overwhelmed at the state of my stash. During the subsequent clean up, I found a wealth of other half-finished projects and clothes that I had put aside for a rainy day. These were added to my list of things to finish / re-use / refashion / up-cycle before buying any new supplies. Hubster is going to be the happiest man alive. He may get his study back, I will get some new additions to my wardrobe and presents will be made and gifted with nary a dollar spent.
Recently I came across this lovely little layered tunic on the Anthropologie website. This is my happy place to browse and dream. It was swiftly pinned and even featured on my Mid-week Inspiration post. I loved it that much.
It was definitely playing on my mind, so when I came across this pink monstrosity
and this old sweatshirt
I knew it was a match made in heaven.
The pink tunic was a project that I started years ago. I loved the colour, I loved the neckline but I hated the shape and the panelling and couldn’t really work out how to make it a nicer fit without compromising the whole garment. So in the wardrobe it sat, collecting dust and dreaming of a life whereby it would be worn and loved. Today is that day.
I added a small extension on the bottom to give it some weight and shape. Popped the jumper over top, decided on placement and slip stitched the lot together around the neck and intermittently down the side seams.
Voila. What do you think?
